Dr. Patricia M. Schultz is a podiatrist in solo practice in Silver Spring, Maryland. Upon graduation from the University of Rochester, she completed her medical degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, then her residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Schultz has been board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery since 1991 and is currently recertified. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Dermatology.
As Clinical Instructor at Howard University Hospital and its College of Medicine, she provided clinical and surgical care and resident education for nearly two decades. Additionally, she was an affiliate staff member at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, where she had been a Clinical Attending in the weekly residents’ clinics for 25 years, also with surgical privileges. At Washington Adventist Hospital, she held surgical credentials as well, and was an attending physician in their Wound Care Center. Her geriatric care experience included several nursing homes, such as J.B. Johnson Nursing Center and the Assisted Living Center of St. Dominic’s Priory. She co-authored journal articles and has given talks on clinical aspects of pedorthics and dermatology.
She has been a member of the American Society of Podiatric Dermatology since 1983, now known as the American Society of Foot and Ankle Dermatology (ASFAD), and is currently a Fellow, served as Vice-President on its Board of Directors for many years. From 2004-2016, she was the co-chair of the ASPD annual Cherry Blossom Podiatric Dermatology Seminar with Dr. M. Joel Morse. Together, they expanded the conference beyond a regional meeting of local academic faculty to its present national scope.
Dr. Schultz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Certified in Foot Surgery (Emeritus). She is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), American Association of Women Podiatrists (AAWP), Maryland Podiatric Medical Association, Council for Nail Disorders of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Diabetes Association, NYCPM Alumni Association, University of Rochester Alumni Association,. Her special interest is in care of the foot’s several anatomic and functional components by integrative care.
